The Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre is committed to providing a low cost quality holistic care service. We have therefore leased rooms at our centres to qualified Complementary Therapist’s at a minimal charge so that they can provide a low cost service to you.

The therapists are contractors and are responsible for their own bookings, cancellations and collection and receipting of fees. Appointments must be made with the therapist. Fees charged will be kept at a low cost of $45 per session for health care card holders and $50 for others. A session is one hour duration.

Acupuncture costs $45 for a 30 minute session. Please check with your health fund to see if you are eligible for a rebate.

VOUCHERS are available to CCCWHC clients to a subsidised session. Please speak to the Centre Coordinators at any of the three centres to see if you are eligible.

Mei Lan has practiced acupuncture in Australia since 1980. Mei Lan is an accredited member of the Australian Traditional Chinese Medicine Association having obtained her qualification at the Yung Ding Hospital, Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing with further training at the Chinese Acupuncture Research Centre in Hong Kong and at the World Health Organization Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute in Beijing.

Acupuncture has been practised in China and East Asia for at least 5000 years.

Fine sterile needles are used on specific “acu-points along the body’s energy/meridian lines”. This clears energy blockages and stimulates the normal flow of “chi” throughout the body. It is well respected as a complement to Western medicine and as a stand-alone primary therapy. It treats the body as an integral whole. The goal of the treatment is to restore the body’s balance, allowing natural healing and repair to take place.

Acupuncture can help a wide range of health problems such as pain; musclo-skeletal, neurological, gynaecological conditions; fertility and pregnancy, and gastrointestinal, ear nose and throat, urogenital and cardio vascular disorders; common colds and flu, allergies, anxiety, stress, insomnia, fatigue and smoking cessation. Information sheets are available at the Women’s Health Centre.

Mei Lan holds clinics at PWHC on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday.
Each sessions costs $45 and lasts approximately 30 minutes.
