Sexual / Domestic and Family Violence Counsellor – Wyoming

Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre is ‘A feminist health centre of excellence enabling Central Coast women access to holistic health care and we have a New Opportunity! We are looking for an experienced sexual/domestic and family violence counsellor to increase women’s access to counselling support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is a Temporary Permanent part-time position 19.5 hours per week, funded for up to 12 months. The role is remunerated under the Social, Community Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) Level 5.3. Salary packaging is available to eligible successful applicants.

The role of the Sexual/Domestic Violence/Family Violence Counsellor is to provide short term trauma informed counselling. Linking women in with the Sexual/DV/Family Violence Case Management Worker or other relevant services.

This position is in addition to a team of three Generalist Counsellors/Group Facilitators; and is supported by our Intake/Counselling/Groups Coordinator.

This role will be based at the Wyoming Centre however to support service accessibility, can also work from our outreach centres or suitable counselling locations. This position is counselling only and does not require any group work.

CCCWHC operates from a person-centred, trauma informed and feminist perspective which recognises and identifies ways in which women’s wellbeing is specifically influenced and impacted by a broad range of social, cultural, economic and biological factors. The Counsellor will have experience and training in sexual and/or domestic violence and/or family violence and trauma informed practice. The Counsellor will demonstrate a commitment to a person centred approach; women’s health; primary health care; holistic health practices; and feminism.
